Newborn Portraits with the Richerts || Durham, NC

Well hello sweet love, I hope you know the world is better because you’re in it.

I loved spending time with Kelly and Michael and their precious baby, Eliette in their beautiful Durham home. They’ve been through so much to get to this moment, and it was a true honor to help them document this sacred time.

These early newborn days go by in such a haze. I barely remember my son being this small, and I treasure the photos I have of him from this stage. His tiny fingers and wrinkled skin. The little cries and the way he’s snuggle on my chest, content to hear the beating of my heart all day. Just today when I was leaving to head into my studio, Søren asked if I would work from home so he “could feel my heart”. He still likes being so close and I’m treasuring this season of life.

I hope these photos prove to be a treasured time capsule for Eliette’s family, too. A memory frozen in time, from when she was so small.
