What to Wear to Your Fall Photo Session
I tend to de-emphasize clothing in my imagery and instead put the emphasis on connection, feeling, and love! However, feeling good in what you’re wearing translates to more comfort and confidence, which will be reflected in your family’s photos! So I thought I’d share a few ideas on where to begin as you’re planning for your Fall Photo Session!
Let’s start with the kids:
My favorite brand currently is Nellie Quats.
I love the patterns, colors, textures - everything about their style makes my photographer's heart happy!
I’m also loving Bebe Organics & MABO Clothing & Mischa and Puff & The Fawn Shoppe
Accessories!
Remember to think about accessories too - like scrunchies, ribbons, fun socks- these small details can make a big difference in the photos! I’m really loving this hat, in particular.
Options for boys:
It’s can be a challenge to find cute clothes for boys - I have a 5 year old son, and I know this first hand! Right now I’m loving this cardigan paired with these pants, these overalls, this sweater, and this one too.
For baby:
My favorite brands are Fawn Shoppe & Maisonette & Jamie Kay.
For you, Mama!
Think comfort first, a flowy dress or a soft sweater that feels like a hug. You’ll want something you can move around in, snuggle, and run after your kiddos! A textured sweater paired with jeans or a dress, provides comfort but also great interest. Choose clothing with some flow, movement, and texture. Some of my favorite brands for mom are Christy Dawn, Doen, and Jenni Kayne.
If you’re looking for some specific options I love, try this dress or this poncho. Other Stories is another great brand that has great options like - this dress, or this one, or this lovely scarf.
Or if you’re just looking for pieces for your photos, but not looking to add to your wardrobe, try out Nuuly - clothing rental!
For Dad:
Let’s not forget Dad. For him I might recommend this denim shirt or sweater, both from Guess - or even this cardigan! And because I can’t get enough cardigans - take a look at this one, and this one!
